Positions Available:
TVM Health Care are seeking to expand our team of Support Workers!
We are looking for motivated and friendly individuals who are willing to bring their best selves to the workplace to support NDIS participants living in the group homes. We are looking for support staff with experience working with behaviours of concern, non-verbal participants, dementia patients, MH patients and Autism.
Requirements
- Certificate III in either Individual Support, Aged Care, Home and Community Care or Disability or similar
- First Aid certificate
- Appropriate vaccination
- Knowledge and experience with Manual handling and transferring clients.
- NDIS Screening Check
- WWC Check
- Police clearance.
- Experience working with non-verbal participants and behaviours of concern,Autism
- Must be fluent and clear in English Language (Be able to speak, read, and write well).
- Valid driver's license and car
- Excellent communicators with a compassionate nature and the ability to think on their feet
*Must be in the vicinity of Frenchs Forest suburb!

Pay: $32.00 – $74.00 per hour

About the position
The Support Workers will support individuals living with complex trauma and psychosocial challenges at our SIL Home. Your support will be tailored to align with each participant's individual support plan.
Working with external care teams and families, the role is responsible for providing high-quality, responsive, and person-centred support to assist participants in enhancing their everyday living skills, gaining access and participation in the community to achieve their goals, enhance their quality of life and physical and mental health.
The role
- Support participants with their daily living tasks: Hygiene prompting, support with meal preparation and maintaining their living space
- Supporting participants to attend appointments and other community access
- Use positive behaviour support to implement approved restrictive practices as per the NDIS guidelines
- Deliver support by individualised support plans to assist participants'’ wellbeing
- Support participants to make decisions for themselves within their assessed capacity
- Using your creativity to think outside of the box when dealing with complex situations
About you
- Qualification in mental health, psychology, social work, Drugs and Alcohol, or related fields (desirable).
- Experience working with mental health system is highly regarded.
- Ability to empower lives through Trauma Informed Practice
- Ability to work with Drug and Alcohol challenged participants
- Two years of experience working with people with complex mental illnesses, providing behavourial/trauma informed support
- A clear understanding of professional boundaries and restrictive practices
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate as part of a diverse team and work autonomously.
- Understand the challenges people with complex mental health and people from marginalised communities face
- Experience in supporting people deemed as having significant complexity in their lives.

Job Types: Casual, Contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: $21.78 – $50.79 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
